Today, the world is ushering in a new era of education. One that is personalized, adaptive, and captivates the interests of the learner. We are here to replicate and spread this model for children of all backgrounds, using technology as a driver of this change. We have made a cartoon series by the name of Taleemabad, the sole point of which is to teach the basics of English, Urdu and Mathematics to children, while having fun. We have worked with both the private and public sector to design programs that boost learning outcomes for students, increase enrollment in schools, reduce dropouts, and make oversight for school staff and administration easier and simpler through the use of technology. Our work has also been recognized by the Queen of England through the Young Leaders’ Award, given every year to 40 individuals and their initiatives across the commonwealth, for their extraordinary contributions towards advancing the well being of their communities. We have just launched the Taleemabad Learning App on Google Play-store, that can play all this content and test children in a gamified manner. In the app, once the children watch the content, they play games that gauge whether the child has mastered the content they were taught. Currently, we are joining hands with Malala Yousufzai’s Fund in a 3 year long partnership to develop content for secondary grades (starting from the 6th grade). This content will be initially rolled out to 1000 girls living in remote parts of Punjab province, before being launched formally through the app once it has gone through our iterative improvement process. We have also developed an extremely low cost Digital Book that is capable of playing our content without the need of an internet connection. It has been built with the intention of taking education outside the confines of schools so that children who are unable to study at school are not left behind.
